Acupuncture can be used to treat a wide variety of injuries and ailments. It stems from Traditional Chinese Medicine, which focuses on the state of our health being determined by the balanced from of Qi (chee). This Qi flows through 12 pathways, or meridians, located all throughout the body. Typically, pain, dysfunction or an injury is indicative of a disruption to the flow of Qi, or energy. Fine, sterile filament needles are inserted into particular acupuncture points along the meridian, which allows the flow of Qi to be restored and the body to heal more effectively. These acupuncture needles also help to promote blood flow and healing agents to the area, as well as increase endorphin levels in your body to help with pain.
